About this Speaker

Stefano Quintarelli is the Chairman of Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale - Agency for Digital Italy (AgID), the technical agency of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. AgID has the task of coordinating public administration in the implementation of the plan for Information Technology in Public Administration.


He was a member of the Italian Parliament 2013-2018, where he sat on the telecommunications and transport commission.


An Italian Internet pioneer and serial entrepreneur, he was a founder of I.Net, the first Italian business ISP that was listed on the Italian Stock Exchange and sold to British Telecom in 2000. After leaving BT group in 2007, until July 2012 he was a managing director of the digital area of Il Sole 24 Ore group, the leading Italian financial newspaper.


A former professor of computer security, author of several articles and books on Internet and its impacts on society and the economy, and curator of scientific seminars on technology for the Italian financial community.
